Marsh Crake at St Anns Lagoon

On the way back to Kaikoura from Pegasus Wetland I called in to St Anns Lagoon near Cheviot. Scoping the SE corner from the picnic table nearest to the entrance, I had a brief view of a Marsh Crake clambering over branches along the waters edge before disappearing into the corner channel. Watched the area for a while and also went round to that area, but no further sign of the bird.
