Kereru nesting in South New Brighton Domain

There have been a couple of reports on local social media of a Kereru in South New Brighton Domain (Christchurch), and I have looked a few times to no avail, but this morning I found a pair building/using a nest.

Are there any other records of Kereru nesting in New Brighton/South New Brighton?

Thats cool i have not seen them out there. I will have a look this weekend.

About 20-30m from the car park at the community centre (beside the school), along the track back towards Bridge Street, and in a tree just on the east side of the track, between two old stumps of removed trees. About 3.5-4m up the tree.

Went to check on the Kereru nest today and it has gone. No nest in tree. Just a lot of feathers in the tree and a few on the ground, so presumably something got to it. Didn't have a lot of time today to see if I could find the birds, but will have a longer look in the next few days.

The kereru pair have been present over summer/autumn

On the New Brighton Facebook group there is a pic (taken on Saturday 8/5/21) of FIVE Kereru in a Cabbage Tree somewhere on Pine Ave. Been down there a couple of times but haven't seen any.
