Common Tern, Manawatu Estuary

Postby philbattley » Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:32 pm

An adult Common Tern has been at the Manawatu estuary over the past three days. It has been sporadic and short-term at the roost, but is noticeable in flight by its contrasting white rump and grey back and easy, lazy flight. Managed to get a distant photo today of four tern species in one shot without including Caspian, which I felt was a nice achievement. ;)
