Hi all
Incidentally I am on Uvea (or Wallis Island), Wallis and Futuna and there is a drake Northern Shoveler hanging out with the local Pacific Black Ducks (Grey Ducks) on Lake Kikila. I think this will be the first record for Wallis and Futuna, and is of interest given the recent flurry of records in NZ. It looks to be almost out of eclipse plumage with just some dark flcks on the sides of the breast.
And as this bins pic shows, it seems to be getting on rather well with the locals...
Cheers
Paul
