Potential Chestnut Teal, Sinclair Wetlands Otago

Postby Oscar Thomas » Sat Sep 17, 2022 3:35 pm

Immature Chestnut teal (or some sort of hybrid) at Sinclair Wetlands south of Dunedin right now, on the ponds just by the centre. Given my track record with trying to ID Chestnut teal I am very keen to hear experts thoughts on the bird, but the dark greenish head, chestnut breast and white flank spots are a good sign..
