Well if we're playing that game then I think you mean ' Pec Sand doesn't have 2c's in it' ;)

Normal spot! Pretty much halfway between Embankment and Jarvis. Stints were further towards the back but Marsh Sandpiper over towards the shoreline.

4 sharpies, 2 pecs, 18 red-necked stint, the long-toed stint and a greater sand plover all present between Jarvis and Embankment Roads this evening. Lovely still conditions on the lake with ~400 banded dotterel and a few wrybill spread around the place.

There was a also a common tern on the edge of the WFT flock at the outflow site near Taumutu.

Hi Andrew, I've attached a couple of digi-scoped shots of the GSP. Looked to be in basic plumage.

Nice shoulder tabs. Can you give some reasonably precise directions for where it was? I might draw up sone maps of the Greenpark sands and other parts of the lake and name some landmarks before their names of old are lost to our collective memory! It’ll be a bit like a plan of a cricket pitch !! That way folks can more easily communicate locations!

Sure thing. The bird was at the red point on the image below, the red line is Jarvis Road.

Walk out along Jarvis Road and head right once you reach the flats before the lake edge. After a few hundred metres you reach a large pool that has formed, almost exactly halfway between Jarvis and Embankment Roads. The sand plover was on the near side of the pool, with about 150 banded dotterel.
