There were at least nine ibis showing on the island this afternoon including one fledgling, the rest a mix of adults and immatures/non-breeding. Two birds may have flown away before I got my count of 9. It's turning into quite a colony!

Yesterday my kayaking guide saw 10 glossy ibis in a irrigated paddock on the bottom end of Dillons Point road. Unfortunately he was unable to get a photo however great news that the birds are alive and well!

Yesterday saw 5 glossy ibis flying towards Blenheim settling ponds. Preparing for breeding again perhaps?!

Hi Will, We are passing through Blenheim on Tuesday (October 24) and wonder if you have had any recent sightings of glossy ibis in your area? Cheers, Paul Gibson.

Yesterday I saw 2 juvenile glossy ibis in a paddock on the left at the the end of Dillons Point Road with some cattle. They seem to be on and off but where the main flock is, is a total mystery.
