Grahame, I hope to visit Miranda on Monday and would like to track down the Pectoral Sandpipers, is high tide the best time to find them on the stilt pools?

Hello Paul, I don't think it will make a great difference as they seem to like the north end of the stilt pools, often best viewed from the road depending on the sun position. Good luck.

Hi Paul, we saw 9! sandpipers on the stilt ponds today at high tide. 1 Marsh, 3 Pecs and 5 Sharpies. When you walk from the carpark past the hides they were past the stilt flock, and over the fence that cuts accross the far end of the ponds, in the nearby samphire.

Thank you Oscar for the update, if all those Sandpipers are there tomorrow I'll be very happy.

The Marsh Sand, 3 Pec Sands and 5 Sharpies were in the same place as Saturday (thank you Oscar), but todays star was a full breeding plumage Black-tailed Godwit.

Same count as us, except our Black-Tailed Godwit on Saturday was non-breeding, so two Black-Taileds must be present.

Yesterday there was one White Heron. Today one Pectoral and seven Sharpies, Several H and G node stilts.
Also around 50 godwits left while we watched.

Yesterday between 9 and 11am 2 black-tailed godwits flew past the hide by themselves on 2 occasions and with a barwit on a 3rd occasion
