Feilding Falcon(s?)

Postby sav » Sun Jun 06, 2010 1:09 pm

Hi all,

NZ Falcon is a relative rarity in the Manawatu region - I have only seen 6 individuals in 14 years here. So finding a juvenile in Timona Park, Feilding, yesterday afternoon was a treat. It was a reasonable size and I think probably a female.

This morning a juvenile (again female sized?) Falcon flashed right through my garden. The 2 sightings are about 3km apart, so I guess its quite possibly the same bird.
cheers
