Are all cockatoo report-worthy or just these ones? I mean, how rare are they? Just wondering.

You can find the list of species that should be reported to Birds NZ on the Rare Bird form, at www.osnz.org.nz Click on Projects at the top and then on Rare Bird Reporting and find the list of birds. It lists all the places each species needs reports from. Hence Cockatoo are only reportable outside the N Is. and Banks Peninsula.

I think it important to note that reportable here, and reportable to the rare birds committee via UBR are different things. The committee has a higher bar.
We don't get a lot of cockatoo reports here but people are often interested in them.
