Sanderling maybe.
Hi i was at waikuku beach and got a photo of this bird.is it a sanderling it was with some Wrybills.It was the some size as the wrybills.not small like a red necked stint.

Based on the coloured up tertials most likely the same bird that has overwintered on the Ashley. Hope to catch him in October so keep those reports coming!

Yes kelly, this bird has been present for close to a year (or longer?) in that general location, often in association with wrybill. Well done in the new bird.
