I haven't seen the Myna in New Brighton for 3 weeks now, but at 11:30 this morning while driving east along New Brighton Road I thought I spotted it on a street light as I passed. By the time I had stopped and turned around it had flown away. Will go back later and have another look.
New Brighton Road and corner of Brooker Ave, so about 1500m away from where it was before.

Hi. I just thought to mention I also saw the myna the same day but just on my wanders today it's still around and seems a little slow (it's coldfor is nthlanders  ) but it seemed to be happy under the pages/NB rd bridge. Often there's lots of swallows nesting on the nth side but not tonight.

Myna still around New Brighton area, but spreading further afield. I saw it on Hardy Street near Collingwood Street corner this morning (4/7) at 8:15am.

The local New Brighton facebook page has a few reports of it now, one unconfirmed report from Dallington area about two or three weeks ago (not too far from my possible sighting on 22/6) and a positive ID on Oram Avenue on Saturday.

When I saw it this morning it was on the road then flew off to the east along Collingwood Street.

After over six weeks of not seeing our resident Myna, I saw it this morning (about 9:40am). I was walking down my drive to the road and thought it was a starling flying towards me, but the flight was different. It perched on a power line across the road (16 Hardy Street) before heading off north east towards Beresford Street.

As an aside, if I had not done my backyard bird count so early and waited a couple of days, I would have been able to add it to the list of birds in the backyard, as for about an hour it was in our apple and plum trees. Only time I have seen it on our property.

Again the Myna hasn't been seen for a while, but it flew north east over Hardy Street late on Thursday afternoon (27/09) and was foraging/feeding on the road and footpath (Hardy Street) about 8:15am on Friday 28th September. This morning (02/10), my wife (who saw it first on 09/04), saw it in Grantley Street (off Bowhill Road) just north of Rawhiti Domain, so this is the furthermost north it has been seen. It's range seems to be expanding, but it survived the winter and when I saw it on Friday looked like a normal healthy Myna.

I have just been notified by Paul G that he has been watching the Myna alongside river at junction of Owles Terrace and Hardy Street at 1030.
Cheers, Grahame

Just had the Myna in the back yard for about 25-30 minutes. Hardy Street. Nearly seven months since my wife first sighted it.

I hadn't seen our Myna for three months but today it is back on the block of land first seen on in April last year (Red Zone land bordering New Brighton Road, between Hawke Street and Pratt Street). My wife saw it a fortnight ago in same area.
