Still present at dusk Friday. Both sides of Ferry Road and quite mobile. Bernie Kelly saw a "small egret" , so either a Little or Cattle, about a week ago on the other side of the Clive River. ( I told him that Cattle Egrets dont normally perch on posts - but this one did this afternoon!)

A HB tick for me!

cheers

The first Cattle Egret for the Canterbury area was seen on the dairy farm, corner The Lake Rd & Drain Rd (Leeston ) last Wednesday.

Does anyone know if this is still in the area? Heading up that way on Thursday.

Hi Cheryl, both myself and the Twydles have been checking up on the cattle egret regularly but it has not been seen since last Tuesday.

Had a drive around today with no luck. Nice to meet you today Adam. Thanks for the black-fronted tern ID. And the white heron was were you said it would be.
