Can someone help me with identification of a feather

Hi, recently I spent a few days off track in the Waioeka gorge. I came across this feather and cant recognise what species it might have come from. It was along way from the road and farm land so I dont think it came from an exotic species but I have no idea what it come from.
Can anyone recognise it please.

It looks like a turkey feather to me. But I could be wrong.

At first I thought Huia but after looking at photos I think the black part is not long enough. I attached a photo from where it came from

The feather looks a bit large for something the size of a Huia... plus the only white on them was the tail tip and that isn’t a tail feather.

Does seem a strange place to find a turkey feather, but that's what it looks like to me too. I guess the thing with feathers is they're proverbially light and if one got picked up in a stiff breeze it could travel quite a distance.
