Cirl Bunting in Halswell Quarry

As some reports have appeared recently about this area, I went and sat in the car at the far end of the driveway where a grassy area is opened up for parking in the summer. About lunchtime today there were Blackbirds, Goldfinch, Sparrows, Chaffinch and Greenfinch around and then a Cirl Bunting, a nice male, quietly flitting among the rocks on the right hand side as you face the quarry wall. Nick Allen has found them here before, on the rocky mound left isolated after quarrying ceased in 1990.
