A US birder reports seeing an Antarctic Fulmar in Wellington Harbour on 6th November. This seems extremely likely to have been a juvenile Red-billed Gull.

Hard to believe it could be confused with something 3-4x different size. Has that record been vetted, or flagged as sus?

I assume Michael would have flagged it if it wasnt already flagged for scrutiny by the local on ebird? As I mentioned previously, best to contact me directly if you think something has been missed or needs a follow up. Better yet is flagging it directly through ebird if it's a photo mistake, or contacting the local region reviewer if you know who they are. I am happy to follow these up but dont necessarily notice (right away) posts like this on the forum.

Cheers,

Russ

Ps Michael--was this confirmed then to be a Redbilled Gull or are you just speculating?

I can see that another reviewer has requested further documentation so hopefully it's confirmed either way.
