Bittern, Cape Foulwind

Postby David Riddell » Sat Dec 08, 2018 6:11 am

Sitting at the breakfast table at 5.45am watching a bittern through the window of the Beaconstone Eco Lodge near Cape Foulwind. There's a really nice pakihi wetland around a small pond just outside, looks a good spot for crakes and fernbirds but haven't found any yet. Lots of weka though. Great place to stop if you need a place to stay near Westport.
