Has anyone seen the Cape Barren Goose pair that reportedly have young at St Anne's Lagoon at the moment? If so, what was the date when you saw them please.

I saw them on Sun Sep 15, with a single young gosling. They've been reported on multiple occasions since, but I'm unsure of those dates or the current fate of the gosling.

Does anyone know if the Cape Barren geese down by the mouth of the Rakaia are considered wild? We saw 3 in a field with pukekos today but I can’t find out anything else about them.

Stopped in at St Anne's Lagoon this afternoon in cold steady rain. No immediate sign of the geese so headed for the far end, almost got stuck in the mud before we realised the track down there was unmetalled but fortunately were able to make a retreat! Eventually spotted them in the paddock on the far side of the small lake on the right side of the entrance, walking down to the water.

The 2 adults and one gosling were present on the 19th November on the edge of the right hand side pond.

Single adult Cape Barren Goose on the small pond to right of track at St. Anne’s Lagoon this morning. Elsewhere on the main lagoon the Paradise Shelduck seem to have had a very successful breeding season. Also noted a NZ Scaup with 13 one third grown ducklings! Is this exceptional? Or do broods of this species crèche?
