Banded Oystercatcher 2 chicks Kaikoura

A pair of Oystercatchers with 2 chicks on the Kaikoura Peninsula today. One adult with bands on legs as per photograph.

Hi Mavis.

The banded adult Oystercatcher was banded as a chick by Lindsay Rowe on the 11th December 2008 on Kaikoura Peninsula. This was part of a 18 year research project on Variable Oystercatchers on the Peninsula, looking at bird movements and adult breeding.
