Hi all,
I took a group of Year 10 students to White Island today (School-sponsored pelagic--woo!). While my last trip there a few years ago was absolutely pathetic (for birds I mean), the sailing today was actually quite productive all in all. No massive numbers but a good variety considering the boat blitzes straight out and back and half the time we were asked to remain inside. The conditions were sunny and relatively calm--not traditionally great for pelagic birds, but great for viewing what was out there.
