Wandering Tattler, Karikari Peninsula

Postby Michael Szabo » Wed Feb 03, 2021 1:57 pm

Harry Boorman just posted photos to Facebook of a Wandering Tattler at Rangiputa beach on the Karikari peninsula in Northland.

"Seen walking along a small group of rocks about 30metres away from land at kari kari peninsula just now at high tide."

The wandering tattler was seen this morning, feeling along the rocky headland on the falling tide.

It was there yesterday (Monday) too about 4 hours after high tide feeding on the beach between the two main rocky outcrops near the end car park. Missed it last Thursday at high tide - think it might have been roosting ocean side for the two hours I was there!

Great views of the Wandering Tattler at 11.30 yesterday (4 hours after high tide) at the usual location.
