Shorebird twitter conference - starts tonight

Postby philbattley » Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:47 am

I realise that this is not a bird alert, but if anyone is interested, the International Wader Study is holding its annual conference as a Twitter conference this year, and it starts tonight. It is timed to allow people from across the world attend some of it as best they can - in NZ that means starting at 11 pm tonight and running through to mid-morning tomorrow, then resuming in the evening.

Details and links here: https://www.bou.org.uk/conference/istc20/
Otherwise post the conference hashttag into twitter (assuming you have signed up): #ISTC20

First up is Zhijun Ma from Fudan University in Shanghai talking about "Changes of migratory shorebirds and their intertidal habitats in nature reserves in the Yellow Sea". The evening session tomorrow has a load of Australian talks.

Cheers, Phil
