Is it likely to stay around for any length of time Steve?

The tern, and I'm assuming it's the same individual, comes back most years to the Motueka River bridge location. Just checked my eBird records and my first sighting of it was Oct 2015, after a tip-off by Steve Wood.

showing well today with Black Fronted terns (25+) until a Falcon cruised through and upset their feeding temporarily.

Great views this afternoon. No way I can get flight shots with my little super-zoom but after watching the bird hawking with 30 odd Black Fronted Terns for 15 minutes or so the only tern that decided to stop and and have a breather briefly in front of me was the cute little WWBT. Felt very lucky! Heat haze was a bit of a killer but still happy to get some record shots!
