That is totally right.
But i feel a bit bad judging some one when i have no idea of the circumstances.
Sorry.

Buuuuut, we know the circumstances were that he couldn't identify it before he shot it (unless it was intentional) and so..... he shot a bird he couldn't identify.

That judgement thing ... perhaps it should never have been shot but also bear in mind the possibility that the person who handed it in did not shoot it but picked it up dead on the day and then did the right thing. I am aware of Brown Teal specimens handed into museums in this way.

I wish I had been on this website earlier! I would have been able to nip round and have a look- I live about 10 mins away from the Playhouse!

I missed the too.(Oh well I'll see them in AU) If your in Mapua they were even closer at the start, I wanted to go see them but the owners of the land did not want anyone to come. I don't know if you do life lists etc. but they would have been a great "Lifer" for me.

Are you going to Aussie? Awesome! You'll get to heaps of amazing and beautiful birds! yeah, I do have a "life list" and it would have been great to see one in the flesh. I live in Mahana, officially, but we are actually closer to Mapua and I was at Mapua School all my primary/intermediate years!

Sounds fun! When I went to there last year I saw so many bright coloured birds! I brought home so many books of info about them and thousands of pictures! You'll have heaps of fun.
