Hi Oscar,

The bird in the 2nd pic seems to have a band on its leg? Is that right? Anyone know where that was banded?

PS Not trying to have a competition David, just hinting that Paul G's conception of NZ birding is a bit skewed.

I think I read somewhere that no curlews have been banded in NZ.

Is that a band on the right leg of the bird in the middle photo. Can you zoom in Oscar?

Yep, this is the only photo where the band shows up on the bird. George may have it in one of his pics though.

If anyone is interested I could be persuaded to go back to the bird Roost on Friday.
Be warned though that it is a much smaller tide and the birds may not come into the roost as they have done earlier in the week.
It will still be interesting though, but no guarantees.
I would suggest that we meet at Hinau road at the Papakura motorway off ramp at 130pm. It is the first road on the left heading west from the motorway. Go up there about 100 metres.
Please PM if you are coming so I can be prepared.
This is all dependant on me completing my jobs around home!!
