With the stilt ponds drainage sorted out, there is much activity on them. This morning there were now 5 Brown Teal, and 2 curlew sandpipers joining the Sharpie on them. From the main hide were 40 P. Golden Plover and 6 N Z Dots.

Re: miranda today
It just keeps getting better. Today a Pectoral Sandpiper joined the birds on the stilt ponds, and the Brown Teal are now up to seven.
The stilt ponds are now THE place to be at high tide. The four Turnstone are still on the shingle bank.
Cheers,
Grahame

Re: miranda today
Only one Curlew Sand found today, possibly due to weather conditions, but two Red-n Stints found. Paul found a Black-t/Hudsonian Godwit in flight, but unable to determine which due to size and movement of flock. Unable to find on the deck due to distance and tight bunching.

Re: miranda today
One Sharpie, one Curlew sandpiper and one Pectoral Sandpiper all directly in front of the Stilt Hide this afternoon. At least 3 male and two female Brown Teal also on the Stilt Pond.

Re: miranda today
There was a superb plumage Sharpie this morning on the stilt pond, and two Red-necked Stints from the Godwit hide. Sadly no sign yesterday or today of the Broad-billed sandpiper.

Re: miranda today
Unable to find the Grey Plover that two Miranda Shore Guides believe may be present, but the G P's are all fairly well hidden in the Limekilns area. There is no reason to doubt their I D, so worth keeping a look out.
A nice curlew sandpiper was present in front of the Stilt hide.

Re: miranda today
Just double-checking, 20 Brown Teal at Miranda? (Not Greys?).

Re: miranda today
Sorry, yes you are correct on that Russ. Grey teal (Not Brown)
