Dabchick lobed toes

Currently 5 dabchicks in Lake Killarney in Takaka at the moment; but here is shot from last year of the normally resident pair with one of them out of the water- the 'lobed toes' are interesting to see.

Takaka dabchicks

The Lake Killarney resident dabchicks in Golden Bay have a pair of offspring, first time in over a decade I believe.
