Eyrewell ground beetles extinct

Postby Neil Fitzgerald » Tue Feb 19, 2019 11:28 pm

The only known remaining habitat of Eyrewell ground beetles has been converted to dairy farm by Ngai Tahu Farming. That's one whole species gone for the sake of a few more polluting cows.
Shameful doesn't even begin to describe it.

I did some work out there in 2013/14, gave me a real sense of destruction at the time, bleak cold wind swept place, not a place i wanted to stay at.
