Just back from Miranda. There are still quite a lot of Godwits, Knot and Wrybill around, although reduced. The red-n Stint is still there showing quite a bit of red on its cheek and throat, but there is now only one Sharpy left. The Curlew Sand, Broad-b Sand, Pec Sand and Tattler seem to have moved on.

The Broad-billed Sandpiper (in front of Godwit hide) was mostly in breeding plumage this afternoon. The Tattler was also showing well in front of the Godwit hide. There was no sign of the Red-necked Stint that had been partly in breeding plumage.

The Broad-billed sandpiper was in front of Godwit hide at first light this morning, a Pectoral Sandpiper and a Brown Teal were on the Stilt Ponds until spooked by a Harrier mid morning. The G-t Tattler was in front of the Godwit hide late morning with a large number of bandies and P G Plovers

Cheers, Grahame.

There has been a big clear-out, the only birds of note we could find today were one Sharpie and the G t Tattler.

The G t Tattler, 2 Sharpies and one (Jim) P G Plover with aerial are still there. I am told that the Broad billed and Pec Sands were still there yesterday, but looked hard and could not find this morning. The Wrybills stayed stubbornly on the shell bank for over three hours, so that didn't make it easy looking for the B-b Sand.

The G t Tattler was still at Miranda this afternoon, also with it on the Stilt ponds were 2 Sharpies, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Curlew Sandpiper. The Black t Godwit appears to have left.

Sadly there has been a big clear-out by today. No sign of the T t Tattler, Sharpies, Pec or Curlew Sands either. However, some nice Knot, one hybrid Stilt and pleasant weather.

Unfortunately, there is broken window glass in the car park just in front of the Camera mast.

Very quiet again today due the very low Neap Tide, only bird of note was a Great Egret that sat on the shell bank for a couple of hours.

A very low (3.3m) high tide today at 1230. Quite a large number of Bar-tailed Godwits ( one red speckled breasted amongst), 41 Knot (huge increase from 5) including a red speckled one, 149 A Shoveler in every possible plumage, but the star was the Hudsonian Godwit sleeping in with the Bar-t's in front of the main hide, but at 1320 it flew on its own in the direction of the Piako river and watched flying away for about 6k's.
