Common Tern in breeding plumage, Manawatu Est

Postby philbattley » Fri Apr 05, 2019 3:15 pm

There was a Common Tern in breeding plumage at the Manawatu Estuary today. I only have some terrible distant digiscoped images as we were trying (and failing) to catch godwits. We didn't see it yesterday. There were also four Black-fronted terns yesterday including an alpha-flagged bird.
Regards, Phil

Hi Phil, you didn’t by chance manage to get the flag combination on the BFT?

Someone got a photo, and it's been reported to WMIL. Flag was RZ, a bird banded as a chick on the Clarence River on 12 Dec 2018.
Cheers, Phil
