I've also heard fledglings were seen in that general area in summer.

Just heard from a Tamahere resident who has a sugar water feeder in his garden overlooking the Mangaone Stream, he's had a male bellbird coming to it several times a day for the past week. Tend to be short visits as there are lots of tuis who dominate the feeder. He didn't see any bellbirds there last year, but it would seem there's at least one still around.

Great to hear that, David. That still seems to be a bit of a hot spot for them then.
