Field Guide for Ecuador

Postby Paul Shortis » Mon Sep 02, 2019 10:14 am

Can anyone recommend the best field guide for Ecuador, please? Been online and there is a plethora of them, some are not so much field guides as requiring a porter to carry them around!

Hi
I looked when I went two years ago and decided to wait till I got there.

I bought the Fieldbook by Miles McMullan and Lelis Navarette at the lodge I stayed at (Bella Vista near Quito).

Thanks Andy. We are also going to Bellavista but heading down into the Amazon Basin first. I'd like to get a field guide before I go and do some homework so I'll look at the one you recommend and see if I can get it either locally or through Amazon (not in the Amazon!). For anyone interested, Bellavista have been great to deal with including sending a great bird list and advice on local hotspots.
