Sharptailed sandpiper ?

Sharptailed sandpiper ?

This afternoon among a flock of 58 Bartailed godwit saw these two birds I believe are sharptailed sandpiper. Please help me to identify as I find these birds challenging to properly id.

Hi Will,

These are Red Knots. The blotchy orange on the belly of the left bird is what is left of its breeding plumage.

Nice birds for Marlborough.
