Buff Breasted Sandpiper, Ashley Estuary Canterbury

Hi all i got some photos of this bird tonight my son spotted it.i am not to sure what it is.what do you all think.it was bigger then a dotterel.and had yellow legs..it looks like a buff breasted sandpiper as I was looking in some books.

I do not know but it's a first for me. So one more to go on my list of birds I have got but just got to know what it is. Lol

Wow this looks rather exciting. Kelly, was this seen a little further into the estuary from where the little egret has been found (just guessing based off the habitat in the pictures)?

well thats cool i think we seen two of them out there.what a good one to see..i will go back tomorr..

Hi Kelly, below is a map of the Ashley Estuary - I wonder if you give some details for folks of the spot where you saw this bird, or even copy it and mark on it the spot? That would narrow down searching for a small needle in a big haystack?
