Hudsonian Godwit
Don't know if this is intetesting enough as it concerns most probably a long staying bird: A Hudsonion Godwit was present at Pipiroa this morning.

Hi Jochen.
Your observation is interesting. At least to me! Where exactly is Pipirao? I’m familiar with Piako and the flooded paddocks, which are wonderful but can you let know how to get to Pipirao from there? Cheers Steve

Sorry, saw this not until now! Yes, Piako is the right name. The bird was present on 19th again (as well as a Curlew Sandpiper).

Thanks Jochen! Despite several visits to Piako I’ve yet to find the Hudsonian Godwit. A visit to Piako last Saturday produced about 10 P Golden Plover and 3 Cattle Egret. Also at Miranda I saw about 28 PGP, 3x Banded Plover, 2x Sharp tailed Sand amongst the numerous Bar-wits and Wrybills. (No sign tho’ of any ‘mystery sandpiper’).
