2 female in the lagoon and another 3 males out on the mudflats today, also a Little Black shag, uncommon in Southland.

Spotted 2 females in the new river estuary lagoon Tues 25th. Just there for a short period and they were spending time near the posts almost directly in front of the bird hide on high tide

Three birds present on the new river estuary island where they’re often seen this morning 29th of Feb.

One pair was present yesterday at 2 pm.

Pair present today (0940) at Tip Lagoon. Spotted from the access by the main road. Year tick for Matt Jones and I.

Are there any Australian Shelducks remaining at the Tip Lagoon? I saw on the Pintail thread that there was still one shelduck there late last year.

There has been one female-type around recently. I saw it on 01/04, others may have seen the bird more recently.
