Joy & I resumed our monthly surveys of Washdyke Lagoon this morning and among the massed array of waterfowl were 2 Cape Barren Geese, the first that we had seen there since Feb 2017.
As expected, Black-fronted Dotterels had returned to the lagoon for the winter, with 11 counted on the mudflats along the western shore of the northern end of the lagoon.

Re: Cape Barren Geese at Washdyke Lagoon
On our monthly count at Washdyke Lagoon this morning we recorded the two Cape barren Geese again, feeding together on the western shore behind the water level recorder.
The Black-fronted Dotterels were also still present, with 12 counted along the mudflats of the western shore towards the northern end of the lagoon.
