Thanks! but I don't know if there would be any benefits from that. I started the thread to find out if the are many young birder/watchers and for young birders.Jan wrote:If you are a member of Birds NZ/OSNZ I could put you in touch with some other young people.
They don't post on this forum, though.

Yes, have a happy birthday indeed. Young Birder you would be amazed. In all my life in the North Island, I have only heard one Dunnock (In Cambridge) and seen two (in North Auckland). Redpolls, none other than a brief rise and fall of the song of passing birds. Robins, different species so... And Tomtits you need to know where to go. We here have less rare oceanic's as pass on the South Islands east coast, the same vagrants as Farewell Spit and Lake Ellesmere. We have far less bush birds, less waterbirds. So why do we bird in the North Island? Because it's warm!!

no it was a black falcon. It was fast, had pointed wings, and black falcon color and appearance. It was not a dark nz falcon.

Make a UBR if you're so sure of it, then. There has only been one other sighting of a Black Falcon in New Zealand.Young Birder wrote:no it was a black falcon. It was fast, had pointed wings, and black falcon color and appearance. It was not a dark nz falcon.
