I also have a fair heap of the old NZ recordings.
So guess I must have the same as you.
I do quite a lot of birding by ear and try to understand what they are saying
Interesting what you say about the Spotless, the "cough" we got was very close to an area where a Spotless had been seen and we could hear a small bird in the vegetation.

This posting is some time after the event, but it adds to the cockatoo story. I wasn’t a member of this group at the time.
On Saturday 5th September 2015 my wife and I were driving back roads on the opposite side of Whaingaroa Harbour from the town of Raglan, around midday. We were heading east along Ruakiwi Road, just past Clemett Rd, and we saw three sulphur-crested cockatoos in a tree close to the road.

Annette and I went out to Waikaretu Beach yesterday in a howling south-westerly - had to park at the top of the hill and walk about 45 minutes to get down, only having a standard 2WD car. On our return we heard loud screeching from a stand of tall pines and looked up to see four sulphur-crested cockatoos fly out. Annette snapped a quick photo - see below. The farmer working in the nearby woolshed said there are about half a dozen around, flying between two stands of pines on the property, but there used to be a lot more. Have to wonder how many cockatoos are left in the Waikato, these were the first I've seen in years.

I read that there was a cockatoo cull in Auckland a few years ago, so it wouldn't be surprising if similar efforts have been undertaken in the Waikato.

A colleague saw one fly over the office building last week. Single bird flying relatively low, sounded like a possible escapee, but maybe not or maybe it will join a feral flock.
