to "ignore" specific people, you click on "User Control Panel" (on the double blue line above the thread title) and find the tab titled "Friends & Foes". Open that tab and click on "Manage Foes". In the page that opens there is a box in which one can type the user-name of the person or people you want to "ignore". Their posts will then not show up for you and they can be rendered harmless.

I used to keep and breed this species in a large, planted aviary in Blenheim. They bred well but their nests weren't overly robust, and the chicks were tiny for a pigeon species. Nevertheless I did have them nest many times successfully in native shrubs. I was contacted once by a lady who was wanting a hen for her two free-flying cocks. I also tried to home them to our garden but it was a costly exercise. I have had a diamond dove hang around for weeks after escaping, and a friend of my in Grovetown, just outside of Blenheim, would frequently have a few diamond doves getting out of his planted aviaries and you'd just see them flying around the gardens and hanging out on the aviaries. I understand that crested bronzewings (pigeons/doves) had been introduced onto on of the Hawaiian islands, but have maybe died out too?

I don't have special needs, I have special wants.
It's similar, but more high end.

Yes, the CHCH pop seems to have died out unfortunately. I visit the vicinity (the peri-urban roads West and SW of Willowbank Reserve) regularly (7 or 8 times/year), but haven't seen the birds for several years.
