Saw A Rook again today driving in to Taupo over control gates bridge (Waikato river) same spot the huge gum trees opposite the Countdown.... This time a little more interesting as it was carrying a stick in its beak......

Was down at the Ferrybank (central Hamilton) around midday yesterday to watch the rowing (in a very close race Waikato Uni was beaten into third by Harvard and Cambridge), and there was a solitary rook high in the trees above. At least I presume it was a rook, too far away to get a really clear look, and it didn't call. It didn't hang around, and I didn't see where it flew to.
