Still 5 GBTs at the Manawatu Estuary this morning. Either on the spit, or hawking over the water between there and the big macrocarpas.
Also a large influx of godwits - 220 today up from 70 odd at the beginning of the week.

There were 4 gull-billeds at Manawatu Est yesterday (9 Oct) - 1 mottled cap and 3 with largely white heads. They only appeared about 4 hours after high tide.
cheers
Alan

There was a single Gull-billed Tern at the sandspit just before high tide today - 3 Dec. That is the first report since Craig's on 22 Oct.

There is still one present at Lake Ellesmere in the S Is. too. Seen at Selwyn Huts yesterday by Sheila Petch and jill West.
There may be others with the terns down the Kaitorete Spit. Awaiting reports.[me not the terns]
