I saw a bird with a similar coloured head at the Wetlands on Wednesday on its own, but I denied it was the Northern Shoveler. It could still be the bird as it has gone back and forth from the Oxidation Ponds to the Wetlands before, at the end of August.
140 birds on my life list since 17 June 2020, latest bird Black-browed Albatross.
123 birds on my 2024 year list as of 2 July, latest bird Westland Petrel.

Hi Andrew, have you counted the Godwits at A/H estuary lately?
