The print edition of the September 'Birds New Zealand' magazine has now been sent out to members with news of new research to be funded on kiwi monitoring techniques and the impact of plastic pollution and light pollution on seabirds, in-depth articles on the new 'Checklist of the Birds of New Zealand', how the Huia’s different bill shapes evolved, and how the ice ages helped shape the evolution of NZ's blue-eyed shags. There are also quarterly reports from around the country on Birds New Zealand branch activities and unusual bird sightings over the past 6 months, and some amazing photos of New Zealand birds.
