Two Little Egrets at Avon-Heathcote estuary

Two Little Egrets were feeding together at Rat Island inlet, near the old site of the Pleasant Pt yacht club, Avon Rivermouth area of the Avon-Heathcote Estuary. FYI

Think I saw the Little Egrets and got a few photos. Location about 500 meters up the Heathcote estuary from the bridge at the yacht club. First shot from long way away, second after clambering along the vintage railway lines, getting as close as I could. By then one of them had left.

yeps thats one of them. Aside from the two Little Egrets, there's also 2 white herons on the AH estuary - although they're usually well apart with one favouring the Avon and northern estuary, while the other favours the Linwood Avenue canal and southern estuary.

A WW Bl Tern has also been back wintering in the Bromley SP for a couple of months.

I saw this bird near the reeds near the parking lot at pleasant point yacht club on the same day as the little egrets

no sign of Little Egrets last week during the wader count

Not sure if this is a little egret, saw it today at the Windsport Reserve.
