Andrew Styche passed away in Auckland on Saturday afternoon after a short illness. Andrew was a key part of BirdsNZ Waikato, and I'm sure many of you will have crossed paths with him over the years. It's a big loss.
Andrew’s colleagues in DOC are in contact with his family and hope to share details of a service to celebrate Andrew’s life and contribution to conservation in coming days.
An urgent rebuild of the system BirdingNZ runs on has resulted in loss of posts made over the past week.

That is a shock and very sad news. Andrew ran our birds nz Waikato meetings in the doc Te rapa depot and took us out on many field trip. He was very knowledgeable and always shared with everyone.
