Need help in Auckland

Hello. I am coming to New Zealand at the end of November for birding and to escape the Canadian winter. I will be there five months and wish to purchase a camper van. I looked at vehicles on Trademe but cannot even find out if they are still for sale as one needs to be a resident of NZ to answer the ads. Would like to have someone take the vehicle for a mechanical checkup and then need someplace to store it until I get there. Will pay for services rendered. Very anxious to see my first kiwi, penguin and albatross and others.

just in case anyone is wary of the above being some sort of scam, it is a genuine request from a visiting birder. Obviously I'm not in Auckland, so I suggested he might be able to get some help from someone by posting on here.
