The farthest North

You don't get a lot of bird life at the North Pole to warrant a visit from the average twitcher, but this critter was spotted perched on the webcam there this past week. I/d anyone?

hmmm - the darkish tone of the wing tips suggests Ross's gull rather than ivory gull.

Micheal,
You are wrong, the rear of perched bird is a black-legged Kittiwake, note the black tips to primaries 8th to 10th.

Ross's gull do not have black on outer primaries and Ross's gull have pink body.

For those who may not realize the 'North Pole' station shown in the pic is sited on sea ice - as is all Arctic ice. This sea ice is constantly moving - to a greater or lesser extent. At the time the pic was taken the ice and its station was some 300 mile north of the North Pole proper.
