My daughter is on a working trip in Wanaka area and photographed this bird by the lake. Can anyone advise me what it is. First impression was that it was similar to a Phalarope but looked taller. She told me she had been sitting quietly on a boardwalk when it came up to her quite close. All she said was it had yellow legs. Here`s hoping.
