I had some great views of a falcon today while walking out at Godley Head (the northern headland of Lyttelton Harbour). It flew in and sat on a rock outcrop just above us, and then as we walked out to the headland it kept ahead of us and we caught up with it a couple of times. When we got to the end and started walking back on the southern track we then saw the falcon head out across the harbour, crossing over the sea to get to Port Levy/Banks Peninsula on the southern side. I then saw a kotuku and an Andrew Crossland on the way home. Not a too bad day,
cheers
